CNIC.SIMS.PK Portal: PTA’s Official SIM Checker, End to End (2026)
cnic.sims.pk is the only official website that reads Pakistan’s SIM registry. Run by PTA as the SIM Information System, it takes a 13-digit CNIC, NICOP or POC, asks for a CAPTCHA, and returns the SIMs registered on that identity per operator with the voice-and-data split. Free, no account, and it works from any country.

What cnic.sims.pk is, and who runs it
The portal is PTA’s SIM Information System, the browser front-end to the Subscriber Verification Management System that stores every SIM-to-CNIC link in the country. When you submit an identity number, the page queries that registry and renders a privacy-safe summary. Nothing is downloaded to your device and no account is created; the check is stateless.
Two properties make it the default recommendation on this site. It is free, unlike the roughly Rs 2 SMS route, and it is the only official channel that works without a Pakistani SIM. Using cnic.sims.pk step by step
- Type the address yourself: cnic.sims.pk straight into the browser bar, never through an ad or a forwarded link.
- Enter the identity number: all 13 digits of your CNIC, NICOP or POC, without dashes.
- Complete the CAPTCHA exactly as shown; it is case-sensitive on most attempts.
- Submit and read: your per-operator counts appear on the same page.
- Save a dated screenshot. It is your evidence if a franchise dispute ever comes up.
The whole run takes under two minutes on a phone. Repeat it monthly and unfamiliar SIMs get caught while they are still fresh.
What the result shows (and hides)
The result table lists each operator with the number of SIMs registered against the identity you entered, split into voice and data. That split matters because Pakistan’s cap, set by the Supreme Court on 5 November 2015, is really two caps: five voice SIMs plus three data SIMs, eight in total. The portal also reflects activation-side detail that the SMS reply compresses away, which is why it is the better channel for an audit.

Overseas: NICOP and POC on the portal
Two overseas habits pay off. Run the check after every trip home, because that is when SIMs get issued in a hurry. And pair it with PTA’s SIM retention facility, announced 19 January 2026, which lets overseas Pakistanis keep prepaid numbers alive from abroad through their operator, so a dormant number stays both active and visible in your count.
Lookalike sites: spotting the real portal
The fakes are not hypothetical. PTA reported 1,372 data-selling sites, apps and pages blocked by September 2025, and forged material circulates under PTA’s own branding, including a fake notification the authority flagged on 2 July 2026. When the portal is down
Government portals have maintenance windows, and cnic.sims.pk is no exception. If the page will not load or the CAPTCHA keeps rejecting clean input, wait an hour rather than hammering it, and clear the browser cache before the retry. Persistent CAPTCHA failures usually trace to auto-filled spaces around the CNIC digits.
