SIM Information — Check Free & Legally in Pakistan (2026)
SIM information means the registration record behind a Pakistani mobile number — who holds it, on which CNIC, with what biometric status. You can check your own record two official ways: SMS your 13-digit CNIC to 668 (about Rs 2) or use PTA’s free portal, cnic.sims.pk. Nobody can legally pull anyone else’s.

People type sim information into Google and mean five different things: their own SIM count and record, a stranger’s name, a network check, a biometric status, or a “database”. This hub sorts the family out. It shows the two checks that are real, and names the ones that are traps.

Two channels, both run by PTA, both reading the same national registry. SMS your CNIC (13 digits, no dashes) to 668 from any Pakistani SIM and the reply lists your SIM count per operator for about Rs 2. What is SIM information? (plain-English meaning)
SIM information is the record PTA’s Subscriber Verification Management System, or SVMS, keeps for every mobile connection in Pakistan: the holder’s name, 13-digit CNIC, operator, activation date and biometric status. NADRA’s fingerprint match binds it at activation, which is why every legitimate SIM in the country traces to a real, verified person.
The registry covered 204.771 million active SIMs at the end of February 2026, per PTA’s own indicators, across Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone, SCO and ONIC. One design decision defines the whole system: SVMS has no public API. The public windows, 668 and cnic.sims.pk, return a privacy-safe summary of your own record only: a per-operator count, never names, never full numbers, never anyone else’s record.

How to check step by step (free and official)
- By SMS: type your 13-digit CNIC with no dashes, send it to 668, and wait a minute or two. The reply shows your SIM information as a count per operator. Cost: about Rs 2 including tax.
- Online, free: open cnic.sims.pk, enter the CNIC (NICOP and POC work identically for overseas Pakistanis), pass the CAPTCHA, and read the same record with the voice/data split.
- Biometric status: confirm your own verification with your operator — Jazz users SMS their CNIC to 6001, Telenor accepts any SMS (even blank) to 7751 per PTA’s own guidance, Zong takes V to 7911, and Ufone dials *336*1#; every code sits in our biometric verification guide.
- Screenshot everything. A dated record turns every future franchise visit or dispute into a two-minute conversation.

Can you check SIM information by number? The honest answer
No. There is no legal, public way in Pakistan to turn someone else’s mobile number into their name, CNIC or address. Another person’s record is identity information under PECA 2016. Section 16 punishes obtaining, possessing or using it without authorisation with up to three years in prison, a fine of up to Rs 5 million, or both. The law reaches the person searching, not only the website selling.
What stays legal with a bare number: sending N plus the number to 76367 (about Rs 2) to learn its current network; verifying a SIM physically in your hand by texting MNP to 667; and reporting harassment or fraud to the NCCIA’s 24/7 helpline 1799, where investigators can lawfully trace what no citizen ever could. Search Pakistan’s telecom space for ten minutes and you meet a family of near-identical phrases. They are not the same thing, and knowing the difference keeps you on the legal side.

Avoid illegal SIM data sites — use the official method
The scale of the cleanup tells you how industrial this got: PTA reported 1,372 data-selling sites, apps and pages blocked by September 2025, and an NCCIA-led probe got 139 more platforms blocked by October 2025. Even official-looking documents get forged: PTA itself flagged a fake notification circulating under its own branding on 2 July 2026. Monthly, plus once after any rule change or leak headline. Since PTA’s 24 May 2026 advisory locks new SIMs against disowning for 365 days, catching an unknown SIM early matters more than ever.
Who can see my full SIM information record?
You see a privacy-safe summary; the full record stays inside SVMS. Law-enforcement agencies reach it only through documented legal requests tied to registered cases, and courts through orders. No public channel exists, by design.
